Calpedia

Our most important goal for this Gala is to provide a platform for student NGO leaders and social entrepreneurs and industry professionals to interact with each other. This gala will become a supporting channel for student leaders to grow their initiatives and shorten their path to maximize social impacts. To actualize our goal, we have invited professional organizations from renewable energy, education, technology and investment, as well as academic agencies specialized in economic development, youth leadership, public services and corporate social responsibilities. We hope student entrepreneurs and NGO leaders can leverage this opportunity to gain supports and resources from industry experts and experienced NGO leaders.

Besides the RISE! Gala, we have designed a 2 days "CalPedia" events. student social entrepreneurs and NGO founders to know more about the resources and gain connections in the Bay Area. Our initial design for CalPedia comprises of:

  • site visit to and executive meet-up with major NGOs and SEs in the Bay Area

  • experience sharing and discussions about potential cooperation among student leaders

  • seminars and workshops in intellectual properties, use of technology in NGOs, human resources management, social investment, etc. with Berkeley and Stanford agencies and professors

  • exotic tour in San Francisco (including some very interesting social enterprises, such as Delancey Street)

Participants of Calpedia include our fellow student social entrepreneurs and NGO leaders and members from our Gala team.

While our itinerary is awaiting to be finalized shortly, if you would like to give us your valuable suggestions, please feel free to contact us at president(at)bcssa.us and we will take your suggestions into consideration!
